NBSC BRINGS HOPE AND HOLIDAY CHEER TO SINONTAO CLAN IN BARANGAY SANTIAGO, MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully conducted a community outreach program on December 21, 2025, in its adopted community—the Sinontao Clan of Barangay Santiago, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon—an area classified as a Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Area (GIDA). Despite logistical challenges, the activity was made possible through the collective efforts and strong commitment of the NBSC community and its partners.
College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, personally joined and supported the outreach activity, exemplifying hands-on leadership and solidarity with the community. Representatives from various NBSC offices also took part, participating in both the outreach and the volunteerism activities that helped organize, prepare, and distribute the gifts and supplies.
A highlight of the activity was the distribution of Baskets of Love, contributed by the different offices of NBSC. More than basic provisions, these baskets symbolized hope for every family and support for their daily meals. Donated clothing was also distributed, further extending care and compassion to the beneficiaries—clearly reflecting the true spirit of Christmas, which is giving.
The NBSC Community Extension Services Division likewise expressed its sincere gratitude to the Sinontao Clan, led by Kagawad Wilmer Sinontao, and to the Barangay Captain of Barangay Santiago, Jerville O. Senagonia, for their invaluable support and cooperation in making the activity successful.
While the outreach activity was physically demanding, the smiles of the children and families left a lasting impression on those present. For NBSC, the moment reinforced the importance of nurturing ongoing relationships with partner communities. It also reflected the College’s continued commitment to meaningful service, highlighting how its sustained efforts make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those it serves.
